2027 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HIGHWAY ENGINEERS, NEW ENGLAND (ASHE New England)

CALL FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 1, 2026

The New England Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers has established a Scholarship Fund to assist students in their education.
This scholarship fund is directed to those students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning with a stated interest in Highway Engineering or a related field.

The Scholarship Committee will make this award by January 2027. One scholarship of $7000 will be awarded. 

WHO CAN APPLY?
1. Be pursing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or transportation planning.
2. Be in their sophomore, junior or senior year of study for the 2026-27 academic year.
3. Reside or attend a college/university in one of the following states in New England:
Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont.
4. Maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.
5. Not have received an ASHE scholarship previously (from any chapter). Students who are
not awarded the scholarship may re-apply each year they are eligible.

Final selection of the scholarship winners will be decided by a selected scholarship advisory committee based on the following criteria: 

1. Letter of Recommendation 

2. Application Essay 

3. Extracurricular Activities 

4. College Transcript 

5. Completed application in a single PDF file (applicable Application Form pages, Resume, and Letter of Recommendation)

6. Student ASHE Membership or previous participation/volunteering at ASHE events/meetings not required but may be considered as preferred experience
