Annual Scholarship
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HIGHWAY ENGINEERS, NEW ENGLAND
CALL FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 23, 2026.
The New England Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers has established a
Scholarship Fund to assist students in their education. This scholarship fund is directed to those
students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or transportation planning
with a stated interest in Highway Engineering or a related field.
Application deadline is January 23, 2026. The Scholarship Committee will present this award at
our February 17, 2026, event in Boston MA (Location to be determined).
This inaugural year the Scholarship will be $3000 and awarded to one student.
Qualified Applicants must:
1. Be pursing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or transportation planning.
2. Be in their sophomore, junior or senior year of study for the 2025-26 academic year.
3. Reside or attend a college/university in one of the following states in New England:
Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont.
4. Maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.
5. Not have received an ASHE scholarship previously (from any chapter). Students who are
not awarded the scholarship may re-apply each year they are eligible.

Scoring Criteria is as follows:
1. Resume - 20 points
2. Transcript - 30 points
3. Recommendation - 20 points
4. Personal Statement - 20 points
5. Completeness, Clarity and Presentation of Application - 10 points
